What we store

What we use it for

To run the game: keeping your progress and letting you pick it up on another device after signing in. We don't sell your data, and we don't share your account, name, email or progress with advertisers. The ads in the iPhone app are served by Google and work differently; see below.

Ads in the iPhone app

The free iPhone app shows ads: a banner on the title screen and a full-screen ad after every third game (never on the first time you open the app each day). They are served by Google AdMob. To show, measure and improve ads, and for analytics, AdMob can collect your device's advertising ID (only if you allow tracking), your IP address and approximate location, how you interact with the ads, and diagnostic data such as crashes and performance. This data is collected by Google, not by us: we don't give Google your Letter Rip account, name, email or progress. Google uses it under Google's policies.

The website has no ads, and the game has no analytics of its own.

Where it lives

Accounts and progress are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts the game's server. On the website, the "Continue with Google" button is loaded from Google. In the iPhone app, ads come from Google (see above).

Deleting your data

When you're signed in, choose Delete account on the title screen. Your account, sign-ins and progress are deleted from our server right away, and the game clears its copy on your device. Without an account, clearing the site's data in your browser (or deleting the app) removes everything stored on your device.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Features that collect more data, such as notifications, will be described here before they launch.
